The practice of Zen is expressed in silent, seated meditation called Zazen.
Zen is the Japanese transliteration of the Chinese word Chan, which in turn is the transliteration of the Sanskrit word Dhyana, which means concentration.

Warwick Zen is committed to fostering an inclusive, welcoming community offering the practice of zen to explore and inhabit our lives just as they are-to sit together in silence and awaken to the deep wisdom of our hearts. All are welcome regardless of experience.
About Warwick Zen
Warwick Zen is an affiliate of Yokoji Zen Mountain Center, and is led by Zen Priest Jacob Seiryo Gendelman, a student of Tenshin Fletcher Roshi, Abbot of Yokoji. Jacob began formal zen practice in 1988 with Taizan Maezumi Roshi at the Zen Center of Los Angeles. He received Jukai (formally taking the Buddhist precepts) from Maezumi Roshi and Tokudo (priest ordination) from Tenshin Roshi. Jacob is an Associate member of the Soto Zen Buddhist Association.
